Understanding what you’re made of
Health and Fitness Progressions offer a body composition scan in the Melbourne CBD. The analysis can map your body to determine focus improvements in; fat loss, measure lean tissue mass and identify fluid and mineral content.
By measuring your body composition, we can fine-tune your personal training program and nutrition to help gauge your successes along your fitness journey, ensuring your progress is heading in the right direction.
What is a body composition scan?
Total body weight alone is not a clear indication of a person’s overall body composition as it does not distinguish the amount of fat or lean mass the body is fundamentally comprised of. At HFP, we use the state-of-the-art InBody technology. We chose this technology because it is quick, accurate, consistent and non-invasive for our clients, while providing valuable data on muscle mass, body fat mass, visceral fat, water and mineral weight and energy requirements.
It is a great investment to our Melbourne CBD based club, providing consistent, reliable, fast and accurate reporting.
How does a body composition scan work?
Simply stand on the machine, hold the sensors and let the InBody analyser do it’s thing through the use of bioelectrical impedance analysis.
The body composition analysis provides a high level of precision, consistent, reliable, accurate and instantaneous feedback via printed reporting.Â
The scans are quick to conduct and take under five minutes.
The machine is located in our Melbourne CBD based gym, at level 2, 19-23 Meyers Place.
The process
Once the body composition scan has been conducted, the report will provide your personal measurements in the areas of:
- Lean tissue mass
- Body fat mass
- Visceral fat (unhealthy fat around your organs)
- Total body water
- Mineral weight (For strengthening Bones)
- Weight
HFP coaches will use this data to measure trends over time, while providing a clear and objective view of your progress, adjusting your training program and nutrition plan with better accuracy, including weight loss goals.
The Benefits
The use of body scans overcome the limitations of the time-old pinch test and standing on the scales systems. By using a device that yields reporting on multiple parameters and providing data that can be used by both medical and fitness professionals alike, you receive a more in-depth analysis guiding you to your goal.
- Fast results – reporting within 60 seconds.
- No estimations – accurate data based on you, not your age or gender.
- Over 25 measurements – understand how your diet and training are influencing your body.
- Trusted system – used by elite sports and fitness facilities.
How Much does it cost?
Body scans are included in the 12-week program.
InBody Scans and Audits can be purchased individually or in three packs. View program options on our packages page to learn more.
